Gwyneth Paltrow Should Learn Who Sebastian Stan Is Because The Winter Soldier Will AppearIn At Lea

April 2024 · 3 minute read

It looks like Gwyneth Paltrow has completely forgotten that she was part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Just weeks after the Goop founder made headlines because she had forgotten she was in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Paltrow had no idea who Sebastian Stan was when she ran into him at Paris Fashion Week.

In the MCU, Stan is Bucky Barnes AKA the Winter Soldier, and Paltrow has starred alongside him not once, but twice. Both Paltrow and Stan appeared in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, but she didn’t recognize him when they both attended the Valentino couture show.

The 36-year-old actor posted a pic of himself on Instagram along with Valentino creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli, house founder Valentino Garavani, Lauren Hutton, and Paltrow. In the caption, he wrote, “Glad I got to reintroduce myself to @gwynethpaltrow for the third time. We are in the same film…”

According to Page Six, cameras caught Paltrow asking Chris Pratt who Stan was at the Avengers: Infinity War premiere last year.

“Sebastian Stan plays Bucky,” Pratt told Paltrow, AKA Pepper Potts. “Bucky is the Winter Soldier.”

Spider-Man star Tom Holland has apparently suffered the same fate as Stan. He revealed during an interview that it breaks his heart Paltrow has no idea who he is despite the fact that they have worked together.

Now that Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man has left the MCU (may he rest in peace), chances are Pepper Potts won’t be back, either. Endgame actually left the fate of a few characters up in the air, but it appears that the Winter Soldier will be back for at least four more films.

Jeremy Conrad, the founder and editor-in-chief of MCU Cosmic, says that Stan signed on for a nine-movie deal with Marvel and Disney. And, so far, he has only appeared in five films – all three Captain America movies, Infinity War, and Endgame.

The Winter Soldier will also be joining Falcon in their very own Disney Plus series when the platform launches later this year. But that doesn’t mean that Bucky Barnes can’t continue to be part of the MCU.

“Seeing some false rumors being spread around by people claiming that Bucky is done after the Disney+ series. That’s not true,” tweeted Conrad.” “Sebastian Stan had a nine-movie Marvel contract. He’s only fulfilled half of that.”
